1. What were the three aspects of the assignments I've submitted that I am most proud of?
I am quite proud of my lab that dealt with our different parameters, my compendium review because I was able to get control of it this time, and my Day of food.
2. What two aspects of my submitted assignments do I believe could have used some improvement?
I think that my ethical issues essay could be improved because I hadn’t gotten it finished in time.
3. What do I believe my overall grade should be for this unit?
75-80%
4. How could I perform better in the next unit?
Manage my time better!
At what moment during this unit did you feel most engaged with the course?
I loved doing our major lab. I like learning about the different ways my body works on it’s own.
At what moment unit did you feel most distanced from the course?
During the ethical issues essay.
What action that anyone (teacher or student) took during this unit that find most affirming and helpful?
Unknown
What action that anyone (teacher or student) took during this unit did you find most puzzling or confusing?
Unknown
What about this unit surprised you the most? (This could be something about your own reactions to the course, something that someone did, or anything else that occurs to you.)
Pretty much everything that was involved with our major lab surprised me because I have never done those things on my own before.

SELF/UNIT EVALUATION
Thanks for this honest self-eval. I’m glad you liked doing the lab project and saw the importance of being able to measure these kinds of data from our own bodies. I sense a reluctance about the ethical issue essays—not everyone’s favorite, but some folks find those to be the most fun…to each his own.
COMPENDIUM ONE—CARDIOVASCULAR/IMMUNE
Nice job on this review and great graphics to include. The only thing I would ask for is a table of contents at the start with all the sub-topics. It’s fine to organize things by chapter, but please be sure you tell me what is included in each chapter section—the actual topics that are in those chapters—believe it or not, I don’t always remember and I also want to know how how you see it.
COMPENDIUM TWO—NUTRITION
LAB ONE—BLOOD PRESSURE
This write-up is fine but I didn’t see the screen shots with your data….did you send me an e-mail about this perhaps?
LAB TWO—FOOD FOR A DAY
Nice job on this lab. Interesting probably about the lowest fat percentage of anyone I’ve seen. Lots of sodium, but drinking water probably just about neutralizes that…at least my opinion. Glad it was a bit helpful.
LAB PROJECT—EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY
I thought your blood pressure data were interesting. Remember that you are measuring pressure in the arteries of your arm. Doing situps and jumping jacks might require more blood to your legs and so your arteries in your arm will actually have lower blood pressure as your body diverts blood where it’s needed. However, running probably opens up most trunk, limb arteries and so bp was up with running…just a possibility, not something you would have had to include in your lab. The write-up is great…good hypothesis..you could come back even more strongly and say which parts of it were right or not. Nice graphs.
ESSAY—EATING. I didn’t see this?
Lacey, nice job on this unit. Be sure you include all the parts of each assignment, like the images for the blood pressure online lab. I really liked your lab project write-up. As for the essay, if you can convince yourself, even a short paragraph will get you some points so at least you have that. Keep up the good work,
LF
